Those of us who are involved with wine public relations and social media can attest that one of the biggest challenges we face is proving to our bosses or clients why social media matters. I’ve discussed it before, but there is no convenient metric to measure the success of these programs without spending a ton of money on third-party solutions. For most wineries, this is just not realistic. With such narrow margins, the budgets just aren’t available to make this practical.

So, I was was thrilled to hear this week that the new company VinTank is conducting a survey to produce a Matrix Report on Social Media, an in-depth research and analysis of the impact of social media on the wine industry. The survey has been distributed to both bloggers as well as social media networks. To someone like me, this is VERY exciting. I’m looking forward to seeing the results when they are published in the next few months.

If you are a wine blogger, please make sure to fill out the survey. It will not only help me and people like me better do our jobs, but it will also benefit you in that we will garner more influence on your behalf.
